Pensacola International Airport invites passengers to enroll in the popular Transportation Security Administration PreCheck® expedited screening program at a TSA PreCheck Temporary Enrollment Center Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb 7 at Pensacola International Airport.

TSA PreCheck is an expedited screening program that enables identified low-risk air travelers to enjoy a smart and more efficient screening experience. For TSA PreCheck travelers, there is no need to remove shoes, 3-1-1 liquids, laptops, light outerwear or belts. TSA PreCheck is currently available at more than 200 airports with 85+ participating airlines nationwide.

The Temporary Enrollment Center at PNS will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. It will be located in the airport administration office on the second floor of Pensacola International Airport, 2430 Airport Blvd.

Travelers must apply online and make an appointment for the TSA PreCheck Temporary Enrollment Center at Pensacola International Airport.

  • Delta flight 1319 from Pensacola to Detroit: 12:15 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.

“We’re very pleased that Delta is adding direct service from Pensacola to Detroit in addition to their service to Atlanta (ATL) and New York LaGuardia (LGA),” Pensacola International Airport Executive Director Matt Coughlin said. “Detroit is one of Pensacola’s largest unserved markets and offers a large Delta hub with worldwide connections.”

“New service is always a tangible indicator of the prosperity, growth and potential that major carriers see in our area,” Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves said. “Detroit is the major Midwestern hub for Delta, so that means our residents will have many more options for flying in that region and quick connections.”

After a robust summer, Delta isn’t slowing down in bringing back more flights and destinations for New York’s business and leisure travelers alike. Delta Air Lines has announced it will begin daily, nonstop service from Pensacola International Airport to LaGuardia Airport on Dec. 18, 2021. The Atlanta-based carrier says the service is scheduled to run through May 4, 2022.

LaGuardia Airport, located in the Queens Borough of New York City, is the third busiest airport in New York, offering connections to Richmond, Virginia, Detroit, Michigan, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and many other destinations.

Delta Airlines’ daily flight will be operated by Republic Airways on the ERJ 175. The flight will arrive in Pensacola at 11:30 a.m. CST and depart for New York at 12:30 p.m. CST. Typical flight time is 2.5 hours.

“It’s always great to see more destination options at Pensacola International Airport, both for our residents looking to travel and for visitors who want to experience everything our beautiful city has to offer,” Mayor Grover Robinson said. “Having a direct connection between Pensacola and an iconic destination like New York City speaks volumes about the success of our airport, and I look forward to continuing to grow and offer even more flight options for travelers.”

The added route is part of a larger plan by Delta to add more than 100 additional departures out of New York airports JFK and LGA compared to the Summer 2021 schedule. Delta offered this flight to LaGuardia during the summer, but only on Saturdays. This summer, Pensacola experienced a passenger increase of over 20% compared to 2019.

“We’re adding 25% more capacity this fall to meet the significant demand for business and international travel going into next year,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President – Network Planning. “We continue to provide more choice and convenience while rebuilding our global connectivity and delivering what Delta does best – putting our customers first with exceptional, reliable service and a premium travel experience.”

“We are excited to have this route back at Pensacola International Airport with our partners at Delta,” Airport Director Matt Coughlin said. “This daily route is a testament to the growth of the airport and the Pensacola community. Our efforts are not going unnoticed here in Pensacola, the Gateway to the Gulf Coast.”

Travelers using this service are encouraged to stay informed on the COVID-19 restrictions and requirements for New York by visiting coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-travel-advisory.

Flights can be booked online at delta.com.
