Pensacola International Airport (PNS) is thrilled to announce two major new destinations with Breeze Airways: nonstop service to Raleigh, North Carolina (RDU), and continuing to Providence, Rhode Island (PVD) starting in April 2025. These highly anticipated routes will provide Pensacola travelers with unprecedented access to two vibrant and growing markets, further enhancing connectivity for both leisure and business travelers.

The new service represents a significant milestone for PNS, expanding its network and offering passengers more choices for travel. Raleigh, a booming tech hub, and Providence, a historic and cultural gem of New England, open exciting opportunities for tourism, business, and regional connectivity.

“This is a tremendous win for Pensacola,” said Matt Coughlin, Pensacola International Airport Director. “The addition of Raleigh and Providence to our route map is a game-changer, providing greater access to the Southeast and Northeast. We are pleased that Breeze has added these two fantastic destinations, which will have a meaningful impact on our local economy, tourism, and business community.”

Pensacola International Airport Announces New Nonstop Service to Muscle Shoals, AL with Contour Airlines

 Pensacola International Airport (PNS) is pleased to announce a new seasonal nonstop route to Northwest Alabama Regional Airport (MSL) in Muscle Shoals, Alabama with Contour Airlines. The new service kicks off a new partnership with Contour Airlines and will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, beginning March 22, 2025, and will run through August 2, 2025. Contour will become our ninth airline operating at Pensacola International Airport.

This new route provides a convenient connection between the Florida Gulf Coast and the rich cultural and musical history of the Shoals region, home to the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio and a thriving local community. Whether traveling for business or leisure, passengers will enjoy Contour Airlines’ commitment to comfort and reliability.

Pensacola International Airport GOES INTERGALACTIC FOR PENSACON 2025

Pensacola International Airport has partnered with Pensacon for its annual transformation into Pensacola Intergalactic Airport, assuming the temporary name and stellar decor to commemorate the 2024 Pensacon convention scheduled for Feb. 14-16, 2025.

Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves announced the temporary change renaming the airport Pensacola Intergalactic Airport on Tuesday, February 4th. The signage throughout the terminal highlights iconic comic and science fiction characters and welcome messages.

“Our relationship with the Pensacola Intergalactic Airport has been such a wonderful way to not only promote Pensacon, but also show travelers how great our city is in supporting events like ours. Each year, our celebrity guests are impressed when they come off the plane and feel like they are already immersed in Pensacon,” Pensacon CEO Mike Ensley said.

Pensacon attracts tens of thousands of fans to downtown Pensacola each year. Pensacon had a more than $2.75 million in economic impact in 2023. Now entering its 12th year, Pensacon has had a cumulative economic impact of more than $28 million since its first convention in 2014. Economic impact numbers are provided by Visit Pensacola research.

TSA PreCheck Temporary Enrollment Center at Pensacola International Airport February 3-7, 2025

Pensacola International Airport invites passengers to enroll in the popular Transportation Security Administration PreCheck® expedited screening program at a TSA PreCheck Temporary Enrollment Center Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb 7 at Pensacola International Airport.

TSA PreCheck is an expedited screening program that enables identified low-risk air travelers to enjoy a smart and more efficient screening experience. For TSA PreCheck travelers, there is no need to remove shoes, 3-1-1 liquids, laptops, light outerwear or belts. TSA PreCheck is currently available at more than 200 airports with 85+ participating airlines nationwide. 

The Temporary Enrollment Center at PNS will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. It will be located in the airport administration office on the second floor of Pensacola International Airport, 2430 Airport Blvd. 

Travelers must apply online and make an appointment for the TSA PreCheck Temporary Enrollment Center at Pensacola International Airport. 

Follow these steps to enroll:

-Click here to access the application page.
-Under New TSA PreCheck Enrollment Options, select “Apply Now” located under the Idemia column.
-Fill out the steps and choose “Next” at the bottom of each screen.
-Type in your location in the zip code/City/Airport Code box.
-Choose location “Pop Up: PNS, 2/3-2/7” and click “Next.”
-Select your desired appointment time. Please be sure to make note of your appointment time, as no reminders will be sent out.

Once all online appointment slots are filled, TSA will accept a limited number of walk-ins until capacity is reached.

IMPORTANT: To complete the application process, you will need to bring proof of identity and U.S. citizen documentation (such as a U.S. Passport or a birth certificate and a driver’s license). If you have a valid U.S. passport, that is all you need for ID. The TSA PreCheck program is only open to U.S. Citizens, U.S. nationals and lawful permanent residents. Proper documentation must be provided.  

The application process is completed on-site, where TSA captures fingerprints for a background check and collects the $78 application for five years of service. The fee can be paid by credit card, debit card, money order, company check or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.

Spirit Airlines Expands Service to Pensacola International Airport with Four New Nonstop Destinations for Spring Break

Pensacola International Airport (PNS) is excited to announce that Spirit Airlines is launching four new nonstop destinations for the 2025 spring break season. These new routes not only bring travelers to Pensacola’s beautiful beaches but also give our local community easy access to explore vibrant cities like Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Detroit, and Nashville—perfect for a spring getaway.

“We’re making it easier for travelers to discover Pensacola’s beautiful beaches and rich history this spring break with new, seasonal service from four major cities, including nonstop service from Chicago (ORD), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Detroit (DTW), and Nashville (BNA),” said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines. “On the heels of our fourth anniversary of serving Pensacola, we’d like to thank our partners at Pensacola International Airport (PNS) for their continued support as we add new options for our Pensacola Guests to enjoy.”

Spirit Airlines began service at Pensacola International Airport in June 2021 and has continued to enhance its offerings, becoming a key partner in connecting travelers to and from the Gulf Coast. The new destinations will operate on the following schedules:

Delta Air Lines to Re-launch Seasonal Nonstop Service from Pensacola to Detroit

Delta Air Lines will resume weekly Saturday nonstop service from Pensacola (PNS) to Detroit (DTW). Flights will operate from June 14 through Sept. 6, utilizing Boeing 717-200 aircraft with 110 seats, including 12 First Class, 20 Delta Comfort and 78 Main Cabin seats.

  • Delta flight 1319 from Detroit to Pensacola: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  
  • Delta flight 1319 from Pensacola to Detroit: 12:15 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.


“We’re very pleased that Delta is adding direct service from Pensacola to Detroit in addition to their service to Atlanta (ATL) and New York LaGuardia (LGA),” Pensacola International Airport Executive Director Matt Coughlin said. “Detroit is one of Pensacola’s largest unserved markets and offers a large Delta hub with worldwide connections.”

“New service is always a tangible indicator of the prosperity, growth and potential that major carriers see in our area,” Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves said. “Detroit is the major Midwestern hub for Delta, so that means our residents will have many more options for flying in that region and quick connections.”

-Under New TSA PreCheck Enrollment Options, select “Apply Now” located under the Idemia column.
-Fill out the steps and choose “Next” at the bottom of each screen.
-Type in your location in the zip code/City/Airport Code box.
-Choose location “Pop Up: PNS, 12/9-12/13” or “Pop Up: PNS, 12/16-12/20” and click “Next.”
-Select your desired appointment time. Please be sure to make note of your appointment time, as no reminders will be sent out.

Once all online appointment slots are filled, TSA will accept a limited number of walk-ins until capacity is reached.

IMPORTANT: To complete the application process, you will need to bring proof of identity and U.S. citizen documentation (such as a U.S. Passport or a birth certificate and a driver’s license). If you have a valid U.S. passport, that is all you need for ID. The TSA PreCheck program is only open to U.S. Citizens, U.S. nationals and lawful permanent residents. Proper documentation must be provided.  

The application process is completed on-site, where TSA captures fingerprints for a background check and collects the $78 application for five years of service. The fee can be paid by credit card, debit card, money order, company check or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.
