Pensacola International Airport invites passengers to enroll in the popular Transportation Security Administration PreCheck® expedited screening program at a TSA PreCheck Temporary Enrollment Center Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb 7 at Pensacola International Airport.

TSA PreCheck is an expedited screening program that enables identified low-risk air travelers to enjoy a smart and more efficient screening experience. For TSA PreCheck travelers, there is no need to remove shoes, 3-1-1 liquids, laptops, light outerwear or belts. TSA PreCheck is currently available at more than 200 airports with 85+ participating airlines nationwide.

The Temporary Enrollment Center at PNS will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. It will be located in the airport administration office on the second floor of Pensacola International Airport, 2430 Airport Blvd.

Travelers must apply online and make an appointment for the TSA PreCheck Temporary Enrollment Center at Pensacola International Airport.

Follow these steps to enroll:

Blue Skies Await with Several New Non-Stop Destinations

There’s nothing like being stuck at home to make us long for the sense of adventure that comes with air travel. Many are eager to plan their next trip, or to reschedule a trip that had previously planned.  Pensacola International Airport has several new non-stop destinations to get you that adventure you’ve been longing for!

New Destinations Coming this Summer

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, United Airlines will offer expanded service at PNS with non-stop flights to Cleveland (CLE), Milwaukee (MKE), Cincinnati (CVG), and Pittsburgh (PIT).  These four new destinations open up more opportunity for travelers and the Pensacola community to travel and grow. Ankit Gupta, vice president of United’s domestic network planning and scheduling, said bookings have been gaining steam. Earlier in the pandemic, “People just didn’t feel comfortable buying three months out,” Mr. Gupta said. Now more customers are starting to make summer plans, he said. “We’re seeing higher bookings farther out.”

Despite being in the midst of a global pandemic, Pensacola International Airport added to its services with two new airlines. In December, Boutique Air joined PNS with service to and from Muscle Shoals, AL, connecting passengers to both Nashville, TN and Atlanta, GA. Additionally, PNS will welcome Spirit Airlines starting June 10th with service to seven destinations. Spirit will offer the only nonstop flights to Columbus (CMH), Indianapolis (IND) and Louisville (SDF), along with nonstop service Austin (AUS), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Kansas City (MCI) and St. Louis (STL). LEARN MORE

We are already seeing lots of travel again with spring break behind us, despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s previous recommendations against it.

CDC Domestic travel recommendations

We realize that many are not comfortable with traveling yet. The uncertainties of COVID-19 have had us all wondering what is to come. Previously, the CDC, and many other entities, have recommended travel only if it was essential. But now that many are getting the vaccine and states are opening back up, the CDC has altered its direction. IN April of 2021, the CDC says that fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread COVID-19. People who are fully vaccinated can travel safely within the United States. Another change to the CDC’s recommendations is that fully vaccinated travelers do not need to get tested before or after travel nor do they need to self-quarantine unless their destination requires it.

This is great news for the air industry and for those who have been hesitant to plan their trips for this summer. Airlines and airports alike are gearing up to be ready for the many travelers that we will see this summer.

On Feb. 13, 2021, United Airlines will begin nonstop service between Denver International Airport (DEN) and Pensacola International Airport (PNS).

If you are looking to get away to a sunny destination or take a ski trip to the slopes of the Rockies, United Airlines has a flight for you.

While Denver International Airport is not a new nonstop destination, it is the first time United Airlines has offered the flight from Pensacola. Flights will be offered on the weekends beginning Feb. 13, 2021 through Feb. 28, 2021. In March, the flights will change to daily service. The flight to Pensacola departs Denver at 9:45 a.m. (Mountain Time) and the returning flight leaves Pensacola at 3:45 p.m. (Central Standard Time). Total flight time is approximately three hours.

“We are proud to have another addition to the services offered from our airport,” Pensacola International Airport Director Matt Coughlin said. “I know United and other airlines see the potential and strength of our community, and it shows as we continue to grow and come back from the setbacks we’ve seen as a result of COVID-19.”

Pensacola International Airport offers service to 13 destinations through six airlines. United Airlines currently provides nonstop flights to Houston and will add flights to Dulles International Airport starting Dec. 17.

The COVID-19 health pandemic has taken a toll on the airport industry across the world. With added safety precautions in place, Pensacola International Airport has seen a steady increase in air traffic. The number of passengers choosing PNS is exceeding national averages by 30%.

“Pensacola International Airport continues to exceed expectations despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and I am proud to have this incredible economic asset right here in the City of Pensacola,” Pensacola Mayor Grover Robinson said. “I’m excited to see United Airlines adding nonstop flights between Pensacola and Denver, opening up opportunities for new visitors to come enjoy everything our city has to offer while making it easier for Pensacola locals to travel to new destinations.”
